Lavrov has announced that work has begun on the final document for the G20 summit in Miami. Work on the summit’s concluding document is already underway, and there are quite a few challenges involved, Lavrov told the press on the sidelines of the G20 meetings in Atlanta.

Other statements:

▪️ Russia supports the American side’s objective to depoliticize G20 discussions as much as possible.

▪️ Poland’s participation adds nothing to the work of the G20; there is no need for it.

▪️ Many G20 representatives remarked on the sidelines that inviting Poland to the group’s events was an ill-advised decision.

▪️ Lavrov noted that he had been in contact with Rubio during the G20 foreign ministers' meetings in Atlanta.

▪️ There have always been—and will always be—issues between Russia and the U.S., but Moscow welcomes Washington’s interest in dialogue.

▪️ Specific dates for the talks in Abu Dhabi will be announced once they are confirmed.

▪️ Lavrov mentioned that a scandal has erupted within the "noble European family" following a phone call made to Putin by Stubb and Støre.

"Work on the final documents for the Miami summit has, in fact, already begun," he pointed out. "There will be quite a few challenges, as interests are intertwined across a range of areas—including energy and food security—and how these are affected by various conflicts, not least the war the West has unleashed against us, using the Ukrainian regime as its instrument. All of this remains to be discussed." At the same time, Lavrov noted that the discussion is not being conducted from the perspective of one side being "right," but rather "from the standpoint of understanding and examining the core of the problem, and subsequently seeking agreements based on a balance of interests." "We will do everything to support such an approach," the Russian Foreign Minister stated.

A meeting of the G20 foreign ministers, held under the American presidency, is taking place in Atlanta on October 30–31. Lavrov is leading the Russian delegation.

"As for how the work on the summit’s final documents will proceed—it has, in fact, already begun—there will be quite a few challenges, given that the interests involved span a wide range of areas, including energy and food security," Lavrov said during a press conference following the G20 foreign ministers' meeting.
